Oriol Romeu Angles For Permanent Bundesliga Move

Oriol Romeu has been sent on loan for a second straight year but this time he was sent to a Bundesliga club in VfB Stuttgart. Being from Spain he was very familiar with La Liga and it took him no time at all to settle in at Valencia last season. The only thing that unsettled him last season was a string of leg and knee injuries that kept him out of the side.

So far this season for Stuttgart, Oriol Romeu has made three appearances for the German club. He played the full 90 minutes in the two league matches and started a German Cup match but was subbed off with a half hour remaining. It appears that he is settling well and wants to extend his stay for a longer time than just his season-long loan.

"“Maybe I am staying for a longer period of time. You cannot rule anything out in football. I have experienced a technically demanding game in the Spanish league, football in England is more physical, and the Bundesliga is a mixture of that. My ambition is to quickly learn the German language. I want to help VfB Stuttgart achieve a good season and be a full part of the team.”-Oriol RomeuSource: Sky Sports"

Many believe that Oriol Romeu no longer has a future with the club but he signed a three year extension with Chelsea this summer. It may just be that the Blues want his loan spells to raise his profile and of course raise his price tag whenever they decide to sell him. Romeu is doing some marketing for himself and is angling for a permanent move to Stuttgart the same way he did at Valencia last season.

Wherever he ends up will be good for his career. As long as he is healthy then he can be a productive player but just not at the level Chelsea needs. If Chelsea do receive a good offer from Stuttgart then they should make it happen and let the young midfielder move on to the next stage of his career.
