Every once in a while you see a story that makes you fall in love with football all over again. Today that story is what Spanish side Villareal did for one of their biggest fans who also happens to be suffering from cancer. 13 year old fan Gohan told the nurses in his hospital that he dreamt of playing for his favorite club and after some strings were pulled, the club made it happen.
Villarreal start 13-year-old cancer suffering…
byVillareal was playing a charity match against Scottish side Celtic and they agreed to give Gohan the full player experience. He dressed with the rest of the players in the dressing room, was given a number and shirt with his name on the back, lead the team out on to the field, and was among the starters.
The best part of the experience was that they allowed the youngster to score a goal straight from kickoff. After scoring the goal Gohan was substituted off and sat on the bench with his favorite players as he watched Villareal defeat Celtic by the score of 5-2.

It is not every day that you see clubs go above and beyond for one of their young fans. Chelsea FC and other clubs have charitable organizations and the players do their fair share of charity work but Villareal truly made this young man’s dream come true. Good for you young Gohan and good on you Villareal!
