6th Chelsea Goal (91’) – The final goal of the came courtesy of Muhamed Besic who, with the first touch of his Premier League career, did well to set up John Obi Mikel and Diego Costa. Besic’s backheel went awry of its intended target Phil Jagielka and Mikel quickly latched onto the ball, getting the attention of the exhausted Everton center back. Costa instinctively turned on the jets and made a crossing run behind the Nigerian #10 who, with a backheel of his own, delivered the ball into the path of the in-form striker. Laying Jagielka on the grass with the nifty technique, Costa was free at the edge of the box. Running onto his weak foot, the Spaniard feinted Sylvain Distin into a sliding challenge before performing a stepover and tapping the ball to the left again, this time angling for the shot. With a large swing of his left leg, Costa sent the ball into the right corner of the goal and secured his first Premier League brace.

A great display of no-nonsesne counterattacking football and excellent composure by the league’s leading scorer, the sixth goal for Chelsea wrapped up what was a highly entertaining contest and gave the Blues another three points.
