Chelsea FC vs. Everton Goal Analysis
By Mike Adams
1st Chelsea FC Goal (1’) – Just 35 seconds into the match Chelsea FC had gained the lead. From kick-off, play was quickly pressed into the Everton half. Cesc Fàbregas, seeing Diego Costa making an onside run behind Sylvain Distin, played an excellent thru ball to the striker who took one glance at his target before shooting underneath goalkeeper Tim Howard. Appeals for offside from the American and Toffee back line were correctly ignored by the officiating crew.
The swift connection between the Spanish teammates was easily the fastest goal scored so far this season and gave Chelsea FC the early advantage. Costa began his run the moment Cesc received the ball and showed great acceleration to beat his marker, Phil Jagielka, on the diagonal move. With the goal Costa now had three goals from three shots in the league, continuing his amazing start with the club.
