1st Chelsea Goal (45’)

The Blues equalized the score just before halftime when Diego Costa headed home a corner provided by Cesc Fàbregas. The Spaniard generated great curl on the ball away from the keeper, letting Costa redirect a powerful standing header past Lukasz Fabianski. With the assist, Fàbregas became the first player in Premier League history to assist a goal in six consecutive games. Swansea had only conceded one goal in three games this season but were unable to contend against the size of the Chelsea players in the box. Confusion while preparing for the corner by Swansea left the league-leading scorer unmarked. With the goal, Chelsea had gained some much needed momentum going into 2nd half.
