Chelsea FC: Jose Mourinho Not Worried About Loic Remy

Loic Remy is a Chelsea FC player and has already scored for the Blues on his debut. He came on late in the Blues’ Premier League match against Swansea City and scored with a well taken shot from inside the box. However all that should not have happened. Loic Remy should not be a Chelsea player and of course should not have scored a goal for them on Saturday.

More from Chelsea FC News

After the World Cup, Liverpool was looking for a striker to help replace Luis Suarez who departed for Spain and FC Barcelona. They were linked to French international Loic Remy who looked solid on loan at Newcastle last season and played well in Brazil for Les Bleus.

The deal was reportedly all but done but instead at the last minute the deal was called off. The rumors and reports suggested that Loic Remy had failed his medical with Liverpool and that is what ended the deal. More recently there have been rumors that Liverpool found out they could get AC Milan forward Mario Balotelli for £16 million so they made up an excuse to cancel the deal for Remy.

Obviously we will never know the truth but Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho does not seem bothered by the supposed failed medical. Mourinho said, “We don’t have Liverpool’s report. The final conclusion (of Chelsea’s medical) was the same conclusion that the France federation medical department had before the World Cup, which was that the player has no problems and can play football.

Mourinho also takes a little shot at Liverpool for their handling of Loic Remy and said, “If a player fails a medical it should be something very, very intimate, very personal between the player and the club. But the way almost every club does it, it looks like the medical is not any more a private situation.”

Loic Remy passed the Chelsea medical and is now a Chelsea player, that is all that matters. Some clubs may have different standards or may perform different medical tests but the Balotelli rumors seems more likely than Loic Remy failing a medical. Congratulations on the debut goal Loic and we hope you score many more!
