Video Of The Day: Men In Blazers Interview Frank Lampard

Frank Lampard made his debut for Manchester City in last weekend’s draw against Arsenal in the Premier League until he was substituted at halftime. More importantly, Frank Lampard made his debut on Men In Blazers this week as he gave an interview as part of his promotion for his parent club New York City FC.

More from Chelsea FC News

Lampard discussed a variety of topics with Rog and Davo including his first ever goal, an incident in the shower with Jose Mourinho, and what his favorite goal as a professional player was. The Men In Blazers are as funny as ever and Frank Lampard is his usual charming and affable self.

Here is the description from the Men In Blazers website:
“Just days after Frank Lampard signed with NYCFC in July, he sat down for an interview with Rog and Davo. He talked about plying his trade in America, European players’ evolving view of MLS, and that time Jose Mourinho told him he was the best player in the world … in the shower.”

Despite also signing David Villa to NYC FC, Frank Lampard is undoubtedly the face of the franchise. Lampard is one of the more recognizable faces from the Premier League and David Villa has spent the last few seasons in relative anonymity at Atletico Madrid. Lampard is still a talented player, is good looking enough to be the face of a franchise, and of course most importantly hsi first language is English.

David Villa might be used by NYC FC to appeal to the Latino or Spanish-speaking fan base in New York and across America but Lampard’s commercial appeal is more apparent. Of course all that is irrelevant if the club is not successful on the pitch but with Frank Lampard leading the way that should just be a matter of time.
