Chelsea FC’s Eden Hazard Reflects On Manchester City Draw

Eden Hazard spoke to the Chelsea FC official website after the draw with Manchester City on Sunday and spoke about the goal that gave the Blues the initial lead. The young Belgian was key to the Chelsea attack and put in a man of the match caliber performance. He was the main threat going forward and drew several important fouls including Pablo Zabaleta’s first yellow card of the match.

Eden Hazard on the match this year compared to last season’s 1-0 win at the Etihad:

"“Last year we played the perfect match. This year [James] Milner defended more on the right-hand side. That made it more difficult for me to attack. Having said that I thought we played well. It’s never easy to play at City. The first half was complicated; we didn’t have much time on the ball.We defended well though and then we scored another good team goal, which we have been doing a lot this season. We need to continue like that and keep working hard. We stay first in the league, too. Five matches played: four wins and a draw – it’s not a bad start.”"

Eden Hazard also spoke about the Chelsea goal that came at the end of a picture perfect counter attack:

"“It was a nice counter-attack. I played the ball across from the right to Fabregas. Then it went to Iva and then Diego Costa who found me again. I centred it and Andre was in the right place to score. We have many class players here and you don’t have to explain football to them. We understand each other well on the pitch and the goal showed that.”"

Three points from a trip to the Etihad would have certainly been a much better result but all things considered, a draw is not a bad result at all. The Blues have yet to lose this season and they seem to be much more in sync this season than last. They pack a significant attacking punch and just need to tighten up the defense a bit. Other than that, everything is peachy keen at Stamford Bridge.
