Chelsea FC supporters received some very good, very unexpected news at the Champions League press conference from Jose Mourinho today, our star Spanish striker Diego Costa has been cleared to play in Lisbon for the Champions League match.
"‘Diego starts,’ said Mourinho. ‘Hopefully he plays again on Sunday, against Arsenal, but at the moment I don’t think about Arsenal, I think about Sporting and Diego starts tomorrow."
Contrary Mourinho’s claims that Costa would not be able to play 2-3 games a week before our match against Aston Villa Saturday, it would appear Diego Costa is finally fully fit. This is great news for Chelsea FC supporters, and horrible news for anyone that supports a team competing against Chelsea FC. Costa is a big, intimidating, physical centre forward who has no fear and a track record of banging in goals, Sporting Lisbon must surely be nervous.

As detailed previously, Diego Costa will start for Chelsea. Ramires is out with his injury sustained in the Manchester City match. Striker Didier Drogba is also out. The big Ivorian sustained an ankle injury and could not travel with the team to Lisbon, meaning Loic Remy will almost certainly see some action in Lisbon, especially if Costa is not as match fit as Jose Mourinho anticipates. No other players have been listed as questionable.
