Eden Hazard And Thibaut Courtois Called Up To Belgium Squad For Euro 2015 Qualifiers

Chelsea FC midfielder Eden Hazard and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois have been called up by manager Marc Wilmots for their pair of Euro 2015 Qualifiers next week. Belgium will face Andorra on October 10th and will face fellow World Cup nation Bosnia-Herzegovina on October 13th. Eden Hazard missed the last call up for the friendly against Australia in September due to injury but Thibaut Courtois played the full 90 for the Red Devils.

The first match against Andorra should be a walk in the park for Belgium as they will look to take all three points and an impressive goal difference to boot. They have faced Andorra twice with a goal difference of +4 so there is certainly room for improvement there. Ideally Eden Hazard would start this match, help Belgium go up by three or four goals, then take a comfortable seat on the bench for the last 30-40 minutes.

The second match is the most difficult of the group for both teams as they face off against Bosnia and its cadre of stars including Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko and Napoli’s Marek Hamsik. This is the biggest test in a group that includes Wales, Cyprus, Israel, and of course Andorra. Thibaut Courtois will likely start both matches as he is head and shoulders above Simon Mignolet both literally and figuratively. Eden Hazard will certainly need to be at his best against a strong Bosnia team and will hopefully impose his will on both matches.
