Filipe Luis, Willian, And Oscar Called Up To Brazil Squad

Chelsea FC’s Filipe Luis, Willian, and Oscar were all called up to the Brazil squad for a pair of friendlies but Ramires missed out due to injury. Ramires missed the match against Sporting CP and is set to miss out on the Arsenal match on Sunday where his skills could have been very useful for Jose Mourinho against a light Gunner midfield.

Brazil are not playing any qualifiers but are actually playing a pair of friendlies on neutral grounds. The Brazilian FA is notorious for using the fame and recognition of their squad to put on money-making friendlies just about everywhere outside of Brazil. They have played friendlies in the United States, England, and now they are heading to the Far East.

The Selecao will face World Cup runner ups and their greatest rival Argentina in Beijing on Saturday October 11th. They then travel to Singapore to face Japan just three days later. The fact that these matches are friendlies bode well for the Chelsea contingent as they will hopefully not play the full 90 minutes in either match. They are facing a long trip though so that may play a part as Chelsea have a match just three days after they are due to return from Singapore.

Here is the Brazil squad for the friendlies against Argentina and Japan:

Goalkeepers: Jefferson (Botafogo), Rafael (Napoli), Marcelo Grohe (Gremio)

Defenders: David Luiz (Paris Saint-Germain/FRA), Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain/FRA), Gil (Corinthians), Miranda (Atletico Madrid/ESP), Filipe Luis (Chelsea/ENG), Danilo (FC Porto/POR), Mario Fernandes (CSKA Moscow/RUS), Dodo (Inter Milan/ITA)

Midfielders: Luiz Gustavo (Wolfsburg/GER), Elias (Corinthians/BRA), Fernandinho (Man City/ENG), Souza (Sao Paulo), Everton Ribeiro (Cruzeiro), Willian (Chelsea/ENG), Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool/ENG), Oscar (Chelsea), Kaka (Sao Paulo)

Forwards: Neymar (Barcelona/ESP), Diego Tardelli (Atletico Mineiro), Ricardo Goulart (Cruzeiro), Robinho (Santos)
