Chelsea FC manager Jose Mourinho was asked about his side’s display against their London rivals Arsenals and he said that he was “happy with everything” about the performance. The Blues put in a clinical defensive shift and suffocated the Arsenal target and did not even allow a single shot on target.

This was especially impressive against an Arsenal side that is undefeated this season and came to Stamford Bridge looking to play a more physical and defensive side. Chelsea FC overpowered the Gunners and it was two moments of brilliance from Eden Hazard and the Cesc Fabregas-Diego Costa connection that proved the difference.
"“I think I start by [talking about] them (Arsenal). They were good. They had a different approach, they were more solid, they were more difficult. And that makes our victory different, because we beat a good team, beat a very good team full of very good players.I’m happy with everything because, in this moment, our team is able to adapt to everything. What the game gives us, we can cope with it. We are not this kind of — I don’t know if this is the right word but — fundamentalist team, that plays only the same way, does the same thing. We can play in different ways, we can adapt to different situations. When they had the ball we were comfortable; when we had the ball, when we have the chance to touch and to pass, we were comfortable; when we were playing in the counterattack we were comfortable. So I think in this moment the team is mature, it’s confident and I’m very happy with the victory.”Source: Chelsea TV"
It was also the defensive work of Chelsea FC’s midfield that helped the Blues dominate the match. Oscar in particular stood out with his key interceptions and blocks. It was a comfortable victory and the margin of it could and should have been wider. Chelsea FC goes in to the international break at the top of the table and they look very much deserving of their place there.
