Chelsea FC Loanee Victor Moses May Be Out For Three Weeks

Chelsea FC loanee Victor Moses is reportedly going to be out of action for the next three weeks after suffering a thigh injury against Sunderland in their Premier League clash on Saturday. Victor Moses was brought off after 18 minutes and will likely miss out on playing for Nigeria when they face Sudan on October 11th and October 15th.

Victor Moses has been in fine form for Stoke City and has been one of the Potters’ most important players this season. He three assists in five Premier League matches and also provided an assist in Stoke’s 3-0 victory over Portsmouth in the Capital One Cup. Moses is developing a rapport with Stoke striker Peter Crouch and has looked like exactly the type of dynamic player Mark Hughes was looking for.

Nigeria manager Stephen Keshi on the injury:

"“I tried to reach him on phone, but he did not pick up. The team secretary reached him and he may now be out for three weeks or so. I was naturally worried to see him (Moses) get injured (on Saturday). He’s been in good form and I just hope that the injury is not that serious because we need him for those important games against Sudan.”"

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes said of Moses:

"“Obviously he felt it almost immediately and we weren’t going to take any risks with him. We had him scanned and nothing showed on the scan. He trained Thursday and Friday and looked good to go. We’re hoping it’s nothing serious, but we’ve got to get to the bottom of what’s causing the pain.”"

While there is never a good time for an injury to occur, the fact that Victor Moses has two weeks of international break to recover from his injury is great news for Stoke supporters and management alike. He has looked like a proven Premier League player and is light years ahead of where he was while struggling for minutes at Liverpool. This injury should not a be a significant issue for Victor Moses and he should be able to get right back in action after the international break.
