John Terry: Chelsea FC More Attacking This Year

Chelsea FC captain John Terry spoke to ChelseaFC.com and said that the club are attacking more this year but are still looking to be defensively solid. The Blues have indeed looked like a more dynamic attacking side this year and the credit for that should go partially to Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas.

Last season matches that would have finished 1-0 to Chelsea are instead finishing 3-0 or 4-2 with the result all the same. At times Chelsea FC has struggled to score but that was due more to poor finishing than struggling to open up a stubborn defense. In recent weeks the Blues have settled in to a defensive groove and have recorded three successive clean sheets coming in to the international break.

"“You can look at every team in the league and they are all conceding goals. That is because the quality in the Premier League is getting higher each year. It’s as simple as that. When we conceded goals earlier on in the season everyone was questioning it, but it’s going to happen. There are so many good teams and individuals in the league that we are going to concede goals. The important thing is that going forward we’ve got goals in us, as long as we’re not conceding too many. We’re maybe a little bit more attacking this year as well but we’ve had a few clean sheets on the bounce now and defensively we look very solid.”Source: Premier League"

Jose Mourinho and Chelsea FC have a reputation for being a “boring” side in attack but it is Mourinho’s Real Madrid that own the record for most goals in a La Liga season and the Blues have the most goals ever scored in a Premier League season. So let the detractors chant “Boring Boring Chelsea” as the goals rain down on them.
