He’s had hardly any first team, Premier League action since his move to Chelsea FC from QPR, but Loic Remy remains upbeat about his chances of making a success at the club, the battle to get ahead of Diego Costa in the pecking order and his decision to join Chelsea over Arsenal.

Speaking in Le 10 Sport, the French international reiterated his desire to make a name for himself with Chelsea FC and that he fully understands the difficulties facing him in getting a place in the starting XI.
“Chelsea? I did not think twice ”
“By signing here, I did not say it was to stay on the sidelines. I will try to move up alongside great players. The rest will happen naturally.”
“When opportunities like this happen, you can not refuse… In my head, I quite wanted to stay at QPR, but I did not hesitate one second for many reasons: for my room for improvement, for my confidence, in terms of level of demand … Chelsea is one of the best clubs in the world. I’m happy to have signed for a club like this…”
“I know I’m not going to be the first striker, but nothing is set. I have goals. By signing here, I did not say it was to stay on the sidelines. I will try to move up alongside great players. The rest will happen naturally.”
Yet whilst the player himself remains upbeat about his decision and his ability to be successful, renowned French journalist Pierre Menes doesn’t agree and believes having to sit on the bench and not get the game time required to develop his game, will hurt Loic Remy in the long run.
Whether the former Marseille player will get the opportunity ahead of a rampant Diego Costa is yet to be seen, but one thing’s for sure, the unknown situation at club level, certainly isn’t hurting his international form where he continues to score and make chances, giving ‘Les Blues’ a great chance of reaching Euro 2016.
