Manchester City may very well have the chance to keep Frank Lampard at the Etihad until February. New York City FC, the new MLS club that signed Lampard and is set to make their league debut next season, is owned by Manchester City.
NYCFC wants to use Manchester City’s new £150 training ground that will be finished by the end of the month. This will be beneficial to all parties involved: NYCFC gets to train with Frank Lampard at a state-of-the-art training facility and play against lower-level teams in the area, Manchester City gets to keep their main man when Yaya Touré leaves to play in the African Cup of Nations, and Lampard gets to keep playing Premier League football and train with both teams.
