Chelsea FC manager Jose Mourinho hailed his side’s performance against Manchester United and called it fantastic despite the disappointing draw. The Blues were in the lead for the majority of the second half after Didier Drogba’s 53rd minute header but could not hold on to the slim lead. Losing 1-0 leads has become somewhat of a theme for this Chelsea FC season but the Blues dominated the match for long periods of time.

Manchester United made good sport of the match for the first half and were very much on the front foot. They attacked the Chelsea FC box with crosses and balls down the channel for Robin Van Persie to run on to and were it not for Thibaut Courtois, they would have had a breakthrough. Aside from those initial scares however, Chelsea FC was indeed fantastic as they bossed the match after a sloppy opening 15-20 minutes.
Jose Mourinho on Chelsea FC’s “fantastic” performance and Didier Drogba’s goal:
"“My team played a fantastic game, it’s not easy to play here against Manchester United, a Manchester United that tried to play very compact and hit us on the counter attack. We were fantastic, especially in the second half. It was a top-class performance, good control, we could score a couple more goals. The result is not the one we wanted, we came to win but the performance is fantastic. The result, not so, but acceptable.”“He has scored so much. He scored a beautiful goal, he could have scored in the first half. I am so happy with his performance, my team is good and it’s very difficult to speak about [individual] players.”"
This Chelsea FC side has all the makings of a champion but they have struggled at times to hold on to one goal leads. A 1-0 victory used to be the hallmark of a disciplined Jose Mourinho side but this year’s edition is having trouble with that. They have no problem scoring goals, though they could be more clinical, but keeping clean sheets is becoming a rarity. To be fair to them however, were it not for some terrible refereeing we would all be signing a different tune about this performance.
