Jose Mourinho: Shrewsbury Town Will Be Respected
Chelsea FC manager Jose Mourinho reiterated in comments to the media Monday that he will not overlook Shrewsbury Town and that he will respect the League Two side. Mourinho stated that the best way to show respect to Shrewsbury Town would be to send out a good team on the field and he will go there looking to win against a good side.

This match against Shrewsbury Town comes with a very short turnaround period of just two days, or only one if you do not count match day as a rest day. That leaves Mourinho with some selection headaches as not all of his players, Didier Drogba and John Terry in particular, can play two full 90 minute matches in just three days.
"“I have only one day, we travel to London and we are travelling to Shrewsbury. We are in trouble because we have so many injured players. It is even more difficult for us to go. We have to go. We now have a difficult match. Because they are doing very well in their league and doing very well against superior teams in the Capital One Cup. It’s a big day for them. We know it will be difficult for us. But that’s football.“Every game is important. Shrewsbury is not a friendly. We have to play matches with respect and the best way to respect Shrewsbury is to go there with a good team. Not to go there with a weak team and lose. It is to go there with a good team –if they win, they win, but they win against a good team. We are in a difficult situation with regards to today but, when you look at the players who didn’t play – Schürrle, Salah, Zouma, Aké, Mikel – these boys are obviously going to have to play.”Source: The Guardian"
The Blues do have a deep squad and the names Mourinho mentioned could walk in to the starting lineup of many of the top sides in Europe. There are also some youngsters in the side that could also play a role in the match but do not expect too much squad rotation. Jose Mourinho wants to win this match and avoid the possibility of a replay that would further congest the Blues’ schedule.
The amount of time youngsters like Izzy Brown or Dom Solanke will get in the match tomorrow will depend on how it plays out. Andre Schurrle looks set for a start at striker and Mohamed Salah will likely be out on the wings but who will be opposite of him is unknown. If those two players can take care of business then the youngsters can step in and clean up the rest of the match and get the minutes they need and deserve.
