Shrewsbury Town forward James Collins discussed Chelsea FC ahead of the clubs’ Capital One Cup clash on Tuesday October 28th. The League Two side has yet to face Chelsea FC in a competitive fixture but as usual with these League Cup matches, there may be some fireworks and surprises in store for all those involved.

James Collins described matches against Premier League clubs as more calm, possibly because of the higher level of football being played by the top flight opponents. He has a good amount of experience playing against big clubs for Shrewsbury Town as he has faced Arsenal and Stoke City and of course will be facing the Blues next up.

Shrewsbury Town forward James Collins on facing Chelsea FC and hoping to face some big name players:

"“It’s not as frantic on the field and it’s more calm. But in the stands it’ll be more frantic because the crowd get behind you a lot more when it’s a bigger stage, which is always good. I think Chelsea will probably be the best game I’ve played in terms of opposition, so it’ll be another good test for me and the boys.”“In their previous game in the Cup [against Bolton] they played some big names and some not-so-big names, but whoever they play it will obviously be a tough test because they’re all Chelsea players. Personally, I’d rather the really big-hitters play because then you’ve got something to remember the game by and hopefully get a shirt afterwards.”Source: The Guardian"

While the chances of Jose Mourinho trotting out an all star lineup against Shrewsbury Town were already slim, the club’s injury crisis makes it that much more unlikely. Mourinho has reportedly taken Nathan Ake, Izzy Brown, Andreas Christensen, and Lewis Baker along for the ride to Shrewsbury Town and all of the youngsters may get some playing time and some will likely start. What the means for James Collins and his hopes of swapping for a big name shirt we will have to wait and see.
