Willian Wants To Win The Quadruple With Chelsea FC

after a promising start to the season, Chelsea FC midfielder Willian told the club’s official website that he wants to win the quadruple with the club. Willian is a player famous for making his lofty ambitions after he made comments about wanting to “kill a lion every day” in his quest to become a great player for the Blues. While these current comments are not quite as morbid they are certainly more ambitious.

Several sides have won the treble in a given year, including Jose Mourinho’s Inter Milan side that won the Champions League, Serie A, and the Copa Italia, and fewer still have won a quadruple. Usually when a side wins the quadruple a one of trophy like the FA Community Shield or UEFA Super Cup is included even though most football fans do not consider them legitimate trophies. Any team can win a one-off on a given day but it takes a special team to win a cup or a league.

Willian on his ambitions to win the quadruple:

"“The aim is to reach the summer and be able to celebrate the Quadruple: the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Capital One Cup. Why should we aim for any less? It’s a dream and we all know it won’t be easy. In fact, we know it will be a lot of hard work, but that is what we are here for.Every match is so, so difficult and, even when you play a team which is near the bottom of the league, you know to expect a tough game. But the mentality always has to be the same – we have to win.”"

No club has ever won the quadruple that Willian has his heart set on and for good reason. The motive behind what Willian is saying is noble as he is looking to motivate himself and his teammates so there is no problem with his comments. Every footballer at a top club should feel that they are contenders for every trophy and only if/when they are officially eliminated can they give up on it. It would be the greatest season in Chelsea FC history if Willian’s words becomes reality but we would gladly settle for a double.
