Chelsea FC has been a fixture in the English game since its establishment in 1905 and it has always been a club that attracted top talent. For whatever reason this very talented players could rarely find the missing pieces and become a cohesive unit to regularly challenge for top-flight silverware. Still, many of the greatest players in football have worn a Chelsea FC shirt and this video shows what Football Daily believes is the best starting eleven.
Here is the video of the Chelsea FC All-time Greatest Starting XI:
And a message from the creators of the video:
"“Football Daily on YouTube has delved into the Blues history books to come up with their all-time Greatest Chelsea XI – With such an array of talented players throughout the clubs history, this list is undoubtedly controversial but includes players from all of the keys periods at throughout the clubs history. Do you agree with their XI? Who would make your ultimate Chelsea XI?”"
So what do you think of the list? Try and suspend your disbelief that Frank Lampard is playing out wide or that Didier Drogba is on the wing in an attacking trio and try to imagine the sheer amount of talent on display. This list may have a few players playing out of position in places they are not familiar with but we think that in their prime, they were more than good enough to make things work regardless of where they lined up.
