Thorgan Hazard: I Don’t Regret Chelsea FC Move
Chelsea FC youngster Thorgan Hazard is on loan at Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach and told Bundesliga.de that he wanted to be signed by Chelsea and loaned out like they have with many other players. Thorgan Hazard uses the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne, and Thibaut Courtois as examples of what Chelsea FC does and what has happened to him and interestingly enough only one of those three is still at the club.
The Chelsea FC loan policy has its fair share of critics but not many can argue that it is effective. It is an excellent way of bringing in a great deal of young talent at a cheap price, send them on loan for another club to pay their wages on top of a loan fee, and see how these players develop under tough circumstances. Some loan situations are better than others and some players certainly handle it better than others. Judging from his recent comments Thorgan Hazard is pleased with his current situation.
Thorgan Hazard on Chelsea FC’s loan policy:
"“I arrived at Chelsea at just 18 years old from the French second division. So I was always aware that I would not play there at first, but be loaned. Chelsea’s policy is to secure the rights of young talents early and then loan them out, so that the players can mature. This was not unlike with Romelu Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne and Thibaut Courtois. I wanted it too in this way and not any other way.”Source: Inside Futbol"
Thorgan Hazard is not quite a first team regular at Monchengladbach but he has made five starts with most of them coming in recent weeks. He appears to be settling in well at the club and they currently sit at third in the Bundesliga. It is a good situation for the youngster as he will get to play some important matches in the league as well as in Europe in the Europa League.
Not every loan situation is productive for the player on the field but it is always a learning experience. Young players learn how to overcome adversity in the form of adapting to a new country or league, adjusting to new teammates, or learning how to control their emotions if they are unable to play. Luckily for Thorgan, he is getting his fair share of minutes and this loan spell at Monchengladbach should help him develop both as a player and as a person.
