Chelsea FC midfielder Eden Hazard has been ranked the 10th best performer so far in the Premier League by Eurosport for his exploits with the Blues. The young Belgian superstar has been one of Chelsea FC’s best players and has taken his game to a whole new level in what is his second season under Jose Mourinho.
Many people compare Eden Hazard to two other superstars in world football, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. While most do not place him at the same level as those two phenomenons, popular opinion suggests that he could one day get to those lofty heights if he continues to develop. At just 23 years old, Eden Hazard is still very young even by footballing standards. He has yet to hit the prime of his career but he is already considered one of the best attacking players in Europe and world football.
EuroSport on why they ranked Eden Hazard as the 10th best performer in the Premier League:
"The Belgian magician is first up as we dip into the top 10. He actually only boasts two goals and three assists from the current top-flight campaign – with his exploits in the Champions League more impressive – but arguably his two best performances came in the matches with rivals Manchester City and Arsenal. It’s this ability to raise his levels for big matches that secures his spot in our list.Source: EuroSport"
As we have said many times here at The Pride of London, Eden Hazard is nearly a complete player but his finishing is one key element that needs some work. He is technical, stronger than he looks, pacey, works hard on defense, and of course is cool as a cucumber when taking penalties for the Blues.
Hazard already had a high profile before this season but his recent performances in big matches are taking him to a whole new level. As the folks over at EuroSport pointed out, it is not just his performances that set him apart, but the fact that they come in big matches when his team really needs him in the league or in Europe. Many players can build a reputation by beating up on lesser competition but Eden Hazard seems intent on doing so against the big boys of the Premier League and European football.
