Chelsea FC forward Loic Remy told the media that the players know to stay focused on the Premier League title and that it’s a trap to think they already have it won. Remy stated that all of the players know they are capable of winning a trophy this year but that they have to, to use the old cliche, to take it game by game and day by day.

The issue of complacency has been brought up a great deal around the Chelsea FC camp especially when it comes to their Premier League campaign. Some bookies have already paid out on the Blues winning the title but obviously nothing is set in stone. Chelsea have a six point lead over second placed Southampton but that could disappear in a matter of weeks if things do not go as planned for the Blues.
We saw this first hand last season as supposed straightforward fixtures against Aston Villa, West Brom, Norwich, and Sunderland all became nightmares for the Blues as they saw their title aspirations fade away. One could make the argument however that those dropped points were caused more by a lack of attacking firepower than complacency or underestimating an opponent.
Loic Remy on staying focused on the task of winning the Premier League:
"“Every player is conscious that we can really win something this year, but the most important thing is to stay focused about the same thing and don’t think the league is already won. I think it is a trap if we think that.”“We just have to try to win game after game and we know there are a lot of games coming so we have to be careful and play the same way we are playing at the minute.”Source: BT Sport"
With a side that Jose Mourinho assembled that is a great mix of young talent and veteran savvy, there is not much to worry about when it comes to complacency or a lack of leadership. Even Chelsea FC’s younger players such as Eden Hazard or even Kurt Zouma are experienced campaigners at the top flight level.

Loic Remy himself has been a first team regular since 2008 and he is only 27 years old. There is a wealth of experience at every position in the Chelsea lineup and they know what it takes to win the marathon that is a league title. Loic Remy is right in saying that it is a trap for them to think the title is already won but it is not one they will fall in to so easily.
