Frank Lampard was one of the marquee signings that New York City FC made this offseason in the MLS, as the club looks to make their mark in the league in their inaugural season.
With Manchester City being the parent club of NYCFC, as both clubs are controlled by the Abu Dhabi United Group, it has caused a sticky situation between the two clubs with Lampard performing so well for City while on loan.
Pellegrini hopes that a decision will be made soon regarding Lampard’s future in Manchester.
"“I hope Frank’s situation will be resolved in the next days. I said in the beginning that it will be during December we are going to have the last decision. I repeat Frank is very important for our team so I hope he will stay here.”"
Frank Lampard has netted six goals to go along with two assists in his 16 appearances with City and has been directly responsible for at least five of City’s points in what should be an intense title race with Chelsea.
Pellegrini was also asked if this dilemma could cause any problems with NYCFC, but believes that an extended loan for Lampard is the ideal situation for both of the clubs.
"“I don’t think so. That is why we have long conversations with all of them. That is just one club so I think that what is better for the club is better for all the clubs.”"
Stay tuned as we follow this ever developing story of where Super Frank finishes out the 2014-15 season!
