Chelsea FC are taking a trip to north London for a New Years Day match at

Three Point

White Hart Lane, where the Blues are expected to remain top of the Premier League (Cheers again, Burnley!).

More from The Pride of London

Chelsea managed a disappointing draw against Southampton on Boxing Day, but thanks to an incredibly surprising draw by Manchester City against Burnley, the Blues maintained their 3 point lead at the top of the Premier League table. The Blues are on track for a stunning 92 points this season, and finished 2014 on top of the league thanks to the managerial tactics of Jose Mourinho and the skills of Diego Costa, Nemanja Matic, Eden Hazard, Oscar and Cesc Fabregas primarily.

Chelsea have been a wonderful amusing side to watch and have avoided any real pitfalls off the pitch as well. Moving on from the Fernando Torres era (As the Spanish forward has returned home to Atletico Madrid) has seemed to help, and acquiring Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas have revolutionized the sides ability to break down opponents. For Tottenham, those name should strike terror into their hearts.

Costa has banged in 13 goals in 16 Premier League matches, a stunning rate of return that has slowed off over the past few matches. However Costa’s impact goes beyond scoring, as he is relentless in working to get chances created and does a lot of good work off the ball for the Blues. His relationship with new midfield maestro Cesc Fabregas has Chelesea FC running smoothly, and it’s been fun to watch. The big, physical Spanish forward will be a nightmare for Spurs back line to defend, and frankly I’m excited about it.

Chelsea have not lost at White Hart Lane since a 2-1 loss in 2010, when Jermaine Defoe and Gareth Bale scored for Spurs, and I don’t see that changing New Years Day 2015.

Chelsea FC Team News

Chelsea FC have a clean bill of health for their players, but expect to see some rotation given the busy fixture list over the past 10 days. Namanja Matic has explained the players have changed their routine to keep their bodies ready for the stream of matches

“We’ve done light training because there hasn’t been enough space between matches to do more. We just try to recover as best we can and we have a programme which is designed to help us do that.”

. All players should be available for selection, but again there could very well be some rotation. We haven’t heard anything of Diego Costa struggling to train and be ready anymore, so I’d expect him to start, but we could also see the less-often used Loic Remy get a start after he played some against Southampton.

Didier Drogba seems to always enjoy scoring against Spurs, so we might see Jose Mourinho trot him out for old times sake.
