Harry Kane

Many have claimed that Harry Kane was not as his best on Sunday, a point which I disagree with. Yes he did not score, but he was simply a victim of his recent success as Tottenham’s dependence on him and Eriksen meant that taking both of them out of the game easily equated to a good result. He spent most of the game playing with his back to goal as Terry, Cahill and Zouma didn’t give him the opportunity to face goal because they were all well aware of his unpredictability.
Kane is a player that can cause problems from anywhere. He is not averse to shooting from range when a chance presents itself and Chelsea clearly learned their lessons from the 5-3 defeat. He tried to link up play for his team mates but found himself crowded out by Chelsea players.
He did set up a good chance for Chadli after jinking past Fabregas and laying an exquisite low cross which narrowly went past Chadli after Ivanovic fumbled his clearance. He also later produced another brilliant piece of skill to skip past Cahill inside the box and was only prevented from scoring by a last-ditch block from Terry. He was let down by Townsend, Chadli and Eriksen on the night and his performance deserved better from his team mates.
