Paul Pogba is the most wanted man in Europe as clubs from around the continent are chasing his signature. The youngster has been linked to moves with PSG, Real Madrid, Chelsea FC, and even a sensational return to Manchester United. Of course we all know that he left Manchester United on less than perfect circumstances but supposedly his beef is with Alex Ferguson, not the club.

The club that could most easily afford him without worrying about running afoul of FFP is Real Madrid. However, according to Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola, the French star does not want to play for a club like Real Madrid. Raiola claims that Real is not a good fit because he wants his player to “go to a club that believes in Paul’s potential”.
Mino Raiola on Paul Pogba and a possible move to Real Madrid:
"“Real Madrid are a club that is used to buying players like you buy a facecloth — and then throws them away like a facecloth. Real are a team that sees a player who has six good games at the World Cup and buys him.”“We don’t want to go to a club like that. We want to go to a club that believes in Paul’s potential. I am not closing the door to Real, but I’m not opening it either.”"
Even if the comments sound a bit outlandish, Raiola does have a point about Real Madrid. They sold Angel Di Maria just a few months after he was their best player in the season that saw them win La Decima. Di Maria was even the player who set up the winning goal scored by Gareth Bale but he was dismissed and replaced by James Rodriguez.
James is also the player that Raiola was referring to as the one who had “six good games at the World Cup” and Real splashed the cash on him to the tune of €80 million. Most casual fans had never even heard of James before the World Cup although Monaco did pay FC Porto €45 million for him just a year earlier.

If James is worth €80 million then we shudder to think what Chelsea FC or some other club will have to pay for Paul Pogba. These statements from Raiola can never be taken too seriously as this is typical agent speak to try and boost interest, and the price tag, for their player. Pogba may very well end up as another Galactico in the Real Madrid universe but it will cost them a pretty penny.
Chelsea has the money to sign the youngster but he may be blinded by the glamour of playing for Los Blancos. The Blues may have had comparable success with Real Madrid in recent years but Real is still the biggest club in football in terms of spending power and global outreach.
It will be understandable if he chooses Real over Chelsea as he can experience great success domestically and in Europe and play in a good league, but if he chooses PSG then it will be clear that he prefers the cash over the challenge.
