After the win against Stoke City, Chelsea FC has a sizable lead at the top of the table and as Eden Hazard put it they have their hands on the trophy. The Blues have a seven point lead on Arsenal in second and a eight point lead on Manchester United with a game in hand.

Manchester City is nine points behind but they have yet to play their match this weekend and will be facing Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday. Crystal Palace played a huge role in the title race after they came back to draw with Liverpool and end their title hopes so a repeat performance Monday would be excellent.
Despite their struggles and record of three draws and two wins in their last five home fixtures, Chelsea FC do indeed have a firm grasp in the title race. They are comfortably ahead even without the game in hand which will be played on April 29th away at Leicester City. That match should be a straightforward win for the Blues but we know that there is no such thing in the Premier League. Add to it that Leicester will be playing to avoid relegation and it becomes all the more difficult to come away with all three points.

Eden Hazard spoke after the win against Stoke City and knows that the Blues are confident in the title run in. He said, “We are confident. We are first in the league and we take game after game. We have the title in our hands. We want to bring the trophy to Stamford Bridge.”
The final score was 2-1 but Hazard felt Chelsea FC should have won by more. He said, “In the first half we created a lot of chances. We played beautiful football and okay, we scored just one goal, but we deserved to score three or four. The most important thing was the victory and we did very well till the end.”

The Blues did have their fair share of chances and were it not for Charlie Adam’s incredible goal from 60 yards out it would have been a comfortable victory. They have done enough so far this season to earn this comfortable lead and they have learned enough that complacency is unacceptable. That seven point lead could vanish in a few weeks and things could get real interesting in the final few matches.
Manchester City can get a maximum of 85 points this season and five wins out of the last eight matches should be enough for Chelsea FC to win the title. There are some difficult fixtures in there but winning games when it truly matters is what champions have to do.
