Loic Remy will be available for selection next Saturday when Chelsea FC take on Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. Remy was injured in training this past Saturday and ruled unavailable for Sunday’s 1-0 win at Loftus Road over Queen’s Park Rangers, his former club.

The in-form striker would have been a welcome addition to the attack against the R’s, but Cesc Fabregas’ game-winning strike proved to be enough in a tight match that pushed the Blues 3 points closer to another Premier League crown.
The French striker’s muscle injury will only keep him out of the action for one match, as he is expected to feature against United with Diego Costa still out with a hamstring injury and Didier Drogba playing all 90 minutes against QPR. Even with his legendary status, Drogba is 37 years old and while he can still hold up the ball better than footballers 15 years his junior, he appeared to be quite fatigued in the 2nd half against QPR.
According to ESPN FC, Remy has provided 5 goals over 18 appearances for the club this Premier League season, most recently the game-winning goal against Stoke City at the Bridge. His pace and creativity with the likes of Hazard and Willian should prove to be vital if Chelsea FC are to grab all 3 points at home against the Red Devils at the weekend.

Another strong suit for the former QPR forward is his ability to come on as a substitute and play out wide along with Costa when Chelsea is in need of another goal late in games.

The Blues will need to call upon Remy this weekend as it will be difficult to play a top-four side with only one striker available, as was the case against QPR. While Remy may lack the ability to hold the ball as a lone striker, or play a long-ball from the keeper like Drogba and Costa, his pace and technical ability to snatch goals is a valuable advantage to Chelsea FC.
United have been in top form and are fighting for their lives in the top-four as another season without Champions League football would be an utter disaster. Chelsea will do all they can to ensure United leaves London with 3 points dropped, and Remy may be the man to score another match-winner.
