Chelsea FC: What To Do With Victor Moses?
Chelsea FC winger Victor Moses is spending this season on loan at Stoke City and rumors have been swirling that the Potters will make an offer for him this summer. The Nigerian midfielder is enjoying a career renaissance with Stoke and has put together a fine season with 4 goals and 3 assists. The question that Chelsea FC must answer is if Victor Moses is worth keeping around.

There is little doubt that stoke will make an offer for the player but only if the price is right. The same must apply to Chelseas thinking as they decide on his future. Moses made his name with Wigan athletic and earned himself a £10 million move to Stamford Bridge in 2012.
He was instrumental to Chelsea FC’s Europa League triumph but did little in the Premier League. To be fair to the winger he was not given many opportunities in the league but took his chances well in Europe.
Victor Moses spoke to the Stoke Sentinel about his season at Stoke City and his future at Chelsea FC:
"“I just want to help Stoke as best as I can to finish as high as I can. As I’ve said before, I’m still a Chelsea player. I’m here to do a professional job for Stoke. I will do my best to help Stoke finish in the top eight. That’s my aim.”“It’s been nice to hear the manager say he’d like me to stay. He’s a great manager and he’s done well for this club. Before I came here I spoke to him and it looked like the club was heading in the right direction. That’s the main reason I came here on loan.”“I’m enjoying my football here and the style of play suits me.”"
After his first season with Chelsea and the Europa League triumph, Moses’s reward was a loan to Liverpool in 2013. He was expected to start but the emergence of Raheem Sterling derailed those plans. He lost his form due to not playing very much and struggled to make an impact for the Reds.
That same struggle carried on with his performances for the Nigeria national team in last summers World Cup. If Chelsea sold him last summer they would not have gotten very much at all considering how poor of the season Moses had. This season he has performed admirably for Stoke City and has quickly become a fan favorite. He appears to have found a new home under Mark Hughes and seems to be enjoying himself for the first time in a few years.

Victor Moses does not appear to have a place in the Chelsea squad. There were reports that Jose Mourinho wanted to recall the winger in the winter transfer window but that obviously never materialized. If he were to return then he would likely be nothing more than a squad player. Moses is an established senior international and him accepting that role is unlikely.
He has been a good citizen of the club and deserves to be playing first team football somewhere else. Chelsea should do right by him and sell him to Stoke City or to another club of his choosing. The obvious contingency is of course that the price must be right for such a move to happen. Sometimes there is room for sentiment in football but not when it comes to selling a potentially valuable asset.
