Diego Costa

By CFCUnofficial (Chelsea Debs) [CC BY 2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0)], via Wikimedia CommonsCurrently in a three-way tie with Sergio Aguero of Manchester City and Harry Kane of Tottenham Hostpur for most goals in the Premiership this season with 19, Costa’s first season with Chelsea has been nothing short of brilliant. Unlike the other two, however, none of his 19 goals have come off of penalties. Mourinho has done an excellent job of bringing him to the Bridge when he was highly sought after last season.

If the award was presented at the end of 2014, Costa would’ve been the clear winner, but injury problems and missing games due to suspension have contributed to a dip in form. It’s also been made very clear that he is not a popular figure in the English media. Whenever he is in the lineup, however, he’s always giving opposing defences nightmares.
