Chelsea FC Had Offer For Paulo Dybala Rejected
For what seems like the hundredth time this season Chelsea FC is being linked with Palermo forward Paulo Dybala. Dybala is considered one of the best young prospects in Europe and Palermo is looking to cash in on the youngster. Palermo owner Maurizio Zamparini is a very difficult person to deal with and naturally he will make this deal for Dybala as difficult as possible. He is considered a very enigmatic owner and he is looking to find someone to pay the big bucks for Paulo.
Chelsea FC is one of those clubs looking for attacking talent and Paulo’s agent claims that they have made an offer for his client. The real issue with Paulo is his ridiculous asking price. The Argentinian forward is having a fine season at Palermo and has scored 13 goals and contributed 10 assists in Serie A. Although those numbers are impressive they do not even come close to justifying the €40 million price tag being placed on the striker. What makes his price even more ridiculous, especially to Chelsea FC, is that the Blues already have plenty of center forwards.
Gustavo Mascardi on Paulo Dybala’s future:
"Juve are in pole position because the boy considers Juve as a good destination, because (Juve general manager Beppe) Marotta is a good friend that has submitted the highest bid for him so far. Zamparini is asking for €40m and it seems to me like a fair price. Chelsea presented an offer a while ago, but it was very low."
Diego pasta is leading the line and is backed up by Loic Remy who is a starting Premier League-caliber forward in his own right. Chelsea also has several youngsters coming up through the ranks who could fill those needs in Isaiah Brown, Dominic Solanke and Patrick Bamford. However some Chelsea fans believe that promoting youth is one sure way to find yourself mired in mediocrity.

Arsenal has been promoting youth players for the past decade and they have little to show for it except for their own so called moral high ground. They have finally broke free of the fourth-place trophy curse but that is after spending significant money on Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.
Even if you throw out the philosophy that we should promote the youth, spending €40 million on Paulo is a ridiculous idea. In the era of Financial Fair Play that kind of money must only be spent on players that are a sure thing. The Blues spent around £60m last summer on proven campaigners in Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas. There is no way that they will be willing to spend that same amount of money on a player with such little experience given the financial climate the Blues are operating in. Paulo may well be one of the better young players in Europe but he is not worth that kind of money.
