Chelsea FC midfielder Cesc Fabregas has never won a Premier league title so you can forgive his hastiness in wanting to lift one for the first time. After the win against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge, Fabregas was asked if he felt like the supporters were sending off the Blues to win the title before they return home in a few weeks.
Fabregas told ChelseaFC.com, “We are level on games now, we are 10 points in front and we don’t want to give them hope to put pressure on us. We have to put in a good performance because we know the Emirates is always a difficult place to go. We just want to win it. The sooner the better. I don’t care where, when, we just want to win. We want to give satisfaction to the supporters. It’s been five years without winning the premeir league title. For me it’s been 27 years so I’d love to win it as soon as possible”.
The Blues next two fixtures are away from home as they travel to North London to face Arsenal and and just three days later head to the King Power Stadium to face the Foxes of Leicester City. If they win both matches it will bring the Blues point total to 82 while also increasing the distance between themselves and second place Arsenal.
Chelsea may in fact be able to mathematically clinch the league before they return home to face Crystal Palace on May 3. Many Chelsea fans have hoped that the Blues would be able to officially clinch the title on May 10 against Liverpool, if only to further rub it in Reds’ fans faces after last year’s events and the media lovefest surrounding Liverpool
Fabregas has only one league title in his 12 year senior career. He lifted the La Liga trophy with Barcelona in the 2012-13 but never did so with Arsenal. He was on the squad for the Arsenal “Invincibles” team but he did not make any Premier League appearances and was not given a winners medal. It is hard to believe that a player who has been on the scene for so long is just 27 but he did make his senior debut for Arsenal in 2003 when he was just 16 years old.

In his first season as a full-time member of the squad, Arsenal finished as runners up in the Premier League to Chelsea FC in Jose Mourinho’s first season in charge. Time and time again he has seen his hopes of winning a Premier League title crushed by his current club.
In an ironic twist, his former enemies in John Terry, Petr Cech, and Jose Marino will be vital to him experiencing his first true success in England. Given all that has happened in his career, from the failed move to his boyhood club Barcelona and his dramatic return to the Premier League, it is no surprise that Cesc Fabregas wants to win this title as soon as possible.
