Legendary goal scorer, Zinedine Zidane, rekindled transfer rumors surrounding Chelsea star Eden Hazard. The rumors were sparked after a recent quote from Zidane in Maxifoot: “Obviously […] Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are very spectacular, but I like Eden Hazard. Everything he does on the field like it. I like his behavior, his decisive side and the fact [that he makes] progress every year. [He] still has a good margin of progression, and [he’s the biggest reason] Chelsea are leading the championship.”
This quote has sparked speculation on the future of the Blue’s leading man for a move to the Madrid superpower. Hazard signed a new five-and-a-half-year deal with Chelsea worth 200,000 euro per week in February.Zidane’s quote only rekindled the transfer flames around Hazard after rumors of the Belgian moving to PSG and Madrid had been swirling leading up to his new contract. After signing his contact, the rumors died down considering Hazard’s transfer value rose to 99 million € according to CIES Football Observatory’s Top Transfer Values.
Chelsea fans shudder everywhere when there are transfer rumors about Hazard. He is already one of the top players in the game despite being only 24, and the future of Chelsea Football Club. His pace and speed down the left side of the pitch bring fear into the eyes of squads every game. The ability he has to break down a defense and cause havoc is seen on a regular basis. Of course being the most fouled player in the Premiere League, Hazard has a tough time staying on his feet. However, when he is on his feet, springing back on the counterattack, there are few players who are more scary then Eden Hazard.

Zidane sees all these skills in Hazard and more. The manager of Real Madrid Castilla, Zidane has his eye on Carlo Ancelotti’s job if by chance the Italian’s side underperform the rest of the season. The pressure is always on as a manager for Read Madrid and the pressure on Carlo is no different. If Zinedine were to become manager of Madrid’s senior squad, of course he would love a player like Hazard to come to the Spanish capital.
No price tag is too big for Real Madrid, and that is what makes rumors about Hazard to Madrid realistic. Zidan’s praise is big for Eden, to be listed in the same breath as Cristiano and Messi is high praise for the young Belgian.
