This Saturday evening, Anfield will say goodbye to their legend Steve Gerrard in his final home Premier League game. Not only will it be a special day for those in attendance, its looking to be a special day for scalpers as well.
There is some recent history with the Reds and the Eagles. Crystal Palace helped end Liverpool’s title bid last season with a crazy 3 goal comeback in the second half. After they beat them again 3-1 earlier this season the Palace fans began to sing “can we play you every week”.
These teams have played each other four times in the past 2 seasons and on every occasion the number has gone over 2.5 and neither team has kept a single clean sheet. Let’s hope Steven Gerrard’s farewell is another cracker.
Pick: Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals (+125)
Southampton v. Aston Villa
Southampton wants Europa league football. They need to win. Villa want to stay up and may have already done enough. In any case the free falling Saints need to regroup and win this game.
Pick: Southampton (-120)
Tottenham v. Hull
The Spurs do NOT want Europa League football as evidenced by that horrendous showing at the Britannia last weekend. Even their fans took the piss! (well worth watching) Hull desperately need to win, Tottenham have officially checked out.
Pick: Hull or Draw (+105)
Manchester United v. Arsenal
RANDOM FOOTY FACT: Wayne Rooney has scored 14 goals v. Arsenal, more than any other opponent
Even though Arsenal lost at home to Swansea, they’ll probably still finish 3rd, even if they lose to United this weekend. Although it will temporarily put them in 4th place where they are most comfortable. United will press to win this game and their final one forcing Arsenal to do the same to avoid a playoff for a spot in the UEFA Champions League next season. Those are never fun.
Pick: United (+145)
Last Matchday’s record: 2-0 (+4 units)
Overall: 51-46 (+15.7 units)
