Champions League: My Favorite Goals From Chelsea FC’s 2012 Campaign

Fernando Torres vs. Barcelona

The next goal coming from one of my favorite Chelsea players, Fernando Torres. I always supported Torres through his much-maligned Blues tenure. No player wanted to score and play well more than Torres. I always appreciated the Chelsea FC support for Torres. El Nino truly does “score when he wants” and his last minute goal rounding Valdes and slotting it home, sent Chelsea to the final, and myself into complete adulation for our number 9.

This goal did not quite erase his giant price tag or lift the pressure off his shoulders but it sure made us all forget the misses and struggles in the moment. You could see the relief on El Nino’s face as he celebrated by dropping to his knees and unleashing a primal scream. The Blues were hanging on by a thread before he rounded Valdes but this was the moment that sealed our unlikely place in the Champions League final.
