Winning The Premier League In 2004-05

In his fourth season with Chelsea and his first under Jose Mourinho, Frank Lampard lifted the Premier League trophy for the first time in his career. It was the Blues’ first top flight title in 50 years and it was the first real justification for Roman Abramovich’s huge investment in the club.

Lampard played in all 38 league matches that season and made another 20 appearances in all other competitions. To top off a fine season he scored both goals against Bolton Wanderers that saw the Blues clinch the Premier League title.

He scored 19 goals in all competitions and it was just a sign of things of come as he would go on to score 20 or more goals for the next five years. That season he also finished second in the Ballon d’Or awards and was named the FWA Footballer of the Year.
