Now I believe that I know the answer to the question I posed back In December 2014.
“Which is better, the 2004/05 or 2014/15 team?”

In my opinion the current Chelsea FC class of 2014/15 is better man for man than their predecessors of 2004/05 during their respective title winning seasons.
Of course the core of the “Team of 2004/05” went on to win the Premier League twice more and even the Holy Grail of the EUFA Champions League, so the true test of this year’s team will show in due course, but I for one think that Chelsea FC are indeed set for a period of domination over the coming decade.
With an average age of 26.3 years for the current Chelsea FC team, compared to the 2004/05 team’s average age of 24.9 years obviously there will have to be changes made to the playing personnel for this decade of dominance to happen.
A future without the likes of John Terry marshaling our defense may seem daunting, but with Roman Abramovich, Marina Granovskaia and Jose Mourinho in charge the future is most definitely Royal Blue.
