Chelsea FC – Falcao Wearing Blue?

As soon as teams win championships they are an immediate destination spot for players who desire to win. Now that Chelsea FC have been officially crowned champions of the most popular league around the world they are a desire for players who want to win.

The appeal is all right there for anyone to want to come and play right away. The best manager in the world, a fantastic owner, and a great cast of teammates to surround yourself with.

This leads to the point of the story, Mr. Radamel Falcao has recently been the speculation of some interesting rumors linking the Colombian to come on over the west London as a replacement to legendary Chelsea striker Didier Drogba. A once proud striker who makes a ton of money wants to come be a backup? Yes, that is the story.

The mere fact this is being brought up is a sad state of affairs for Falcao. The once electric striker’s career has been made to appear in shambles after a rough loan spell with Manchester United this past season.

He made a high amount of money and United did not see a return on the investment in the least. He only scored four goals in the entirety of the season for the Red Devils. Considering he makes £265,000 a week, that is a pretty tough situation for any team to be in.

Obviously Chelsea FC cannot afford to pay the man £265,000 a week, considering Eden Hazard is the highest paid Chelsea player at £200,000 a week. It would be interesting to see how a team would work with the backup striker making £265,000 a week, does not seem like it would end up well does it?

The funny thing is that we already got to see how it would go to have your backup striker make £265,000 in Manchester this past year. It did not go well in the least, and it was hilarious to watch from the top of the Premier League!

There very well could be some validity to the rumor of Falcao taking a pay cut to come play for Chelsea. It would be an admission of the decline in ability and skill on the part of Falcao to take a pay cut to be a backup striker.

Part of it is sad to see happen to someone who is only 29 years old and should not be in this steep of a decline. At the same time having him with Cuadrado would help the Columbian duo perhaps. Falcao on the cheap would not be a bad option to replace Dider Drogba. So long as it works in the locker room and on the pitch it would go over great in London.
