Rubin Kazan

Europa League

This goal came in the midst of Torres’s “best” seasons in a Chelsea FC shirt. He scored 22 goals in all competitions but he did so in 64 games so he kept up his one goal every three matches form from nearly every other season he was at Stamford Bridge.

Still, this was a cheeky finish by a player who was suddenly in impressive form. Many Chelsea fans believed that it was the mask he wore after injuring his nose and dubbed the new and improved striker “Zorres”.

He was feasting on weaker opposition in the Europa League and this goal was no different but it still took a good deal of confidence and touch to score from just outside the box.

The Rubin Kazan keeper was probably better off staying in his area but he made a mistake and Torres made him pay, something he did not do much of in his Chelsea FC career. It was also an important goal as Chelsea advanced past Kazan with a slim 5-4 margin.
