The football season may be over, but the transfer season is in full swing. Let’s take a look at what transfer rumours concerning Chelsea FC are flying around the press this morning.

  • The Sun (no link, subscription required) reports that the Blues have turned their attention to Turkish winger Arda Turan. While they will face competition from PSG, who have apparently tabled a bid worth £18 million for the Atlético Madrid star, his agent has revealed that he is more inclined to come to the Premier League. ‘Arda intends to leave Spain this summer and his will is to play in the Premier League. That is where he wants to take his career at this time.’
  • Oscar is to be used as bait in a Paul Pogba deal, according to The Mirror. This rumour has been around a few times, as we have covered it before, but as talks reportedly having been held with the player, it might have more substance this time. With Juve coach Massimo Allegri a fan of the Brazilian, this could be exactly what the club needs to do to land the Frenchman. ‘Chelsea could include Oscar as part of their attempt to land Paul Pogba from Juventus.’
  • Jose Mourinho’s attempts to bring Antoine Griezmann to Stamford Bridge are set to fall flat, reports The Daily Star. Priced at £43 million, Chelsea are unwilling to pay that much and are instead offering a deal involving cash plus Filipe Luis or Mohamed Salah. Atlético, however, won’t budge. ‘Atletico are digging their heels in for the full fee, with boss Diego Simeone expected to recommend Chelsea’s offer is rejected when he meets with club directors this week.’
  • Speaking of the Egyptian winger, The Mirror carries an article about West Ham United’s potential interest in making a move for Salah. With his future at Stamford Bridge set to be decided soon, he could have the option of moving across London on a season long loan. ‘The east Londoners have asked to loan the £17million-rated Egypt international with an option to buy.’

That’s the rumour round-up for the day. Bear in mind that these are indeed only rumours so take them with a pinch of salt. Furthermore, most of the sources are British tabloid papers which are notorious for making up random stories in order to give their journalists something to do.

Nevertheless in a period starved of any proper football action, what do fans have left to do but speculate? Which one of these rumours do you see as plausible? Which ones do you really want to come true? Get involved and sound off in the comments below!
