Chelsea FC Transfer Rumour Round-Up, June 26th 2015
The football season may be over, but the transfer season is in full swing. Let’s take a look at what transfer rumours concerning Chelsea FC are flying around the press this morning.
- Chelsea have taken a step closer to acquiring Augsburg full-back Abdul Baba Rahman. says The Daily Star. ‘According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Premier League champions have tabled a £10m offer and Baba’s agent Sascha Empacher flew in for talks last week with Stamford Bridge chiefs.’ Juventus are also thought to be interested in the 20 year old Ghanaian.
- Meanwhile, The Mirror reports that Baba Rahman has reservations over making the jump from Augsburg. With international teammate Christian Atsu having been consistently farmed out since moving to Stamford Bridge, the left-back is concerned that a move at this point may not be beneficial for his career.
- The Daily Star also carries an article about a potential move across London for youngster Charly Musonda. The 19 year old was a key part of the FA Youth Cup win last season and Arsenal are believed to have offered £8.5 million for the player, although only to be rebuffed by the Blues. ‘The Premier League champions have no interest in selling the Belgium Under-21 international and will only sanction a loan deal.’
- The Telegraph has developments on the future of Mohamed Salah. Fiorentina, where he was on loan last season, are keen to exercise the option to bring him back next time around for a £700,000 payment to Chelsea. Salah, though, is said to have demanded a significant pay rise to do so and is aware of other opportunities. ‘Salah is aware he could earn around £1.78m by joining Inter Milan, who will make a move to sign the 23-year-old either on loan or permanently if he rejects Fiorentina.’
- Lastly, The Evening Standard reports that youngsters Tomas Kalas and Nathan Aké have both been sent out to Middlesbrough to get playing time in the 2015/16 campaign. With opportunities bound to be minimal at Stamford Bridge, the two defenders will look to continue their development at The Riverside and help Boro gain promotion to the big leagues.
