Chelsea FC Transfer Rumour Round-Up, June 29th 2015
The football season may be over, but the transfer season is in full swing. Let’s take a look at what transfer rumours concerning Chelsea FC are flying around the press this morning.
- Speculation regarding Arda Turan’s future has been addressed, and that too from the man itself. The Chelsea target tweeted yesterday: ‘The transfer rumors are not entirely correct. My agent is currently in touch with 3-4 clubs. I will update you all if a deal is made.’ Turan is thought to have personally told manager Diego Simeone that he would like to move on from Atlético Madrid, and it’s likely his wish will be granted.
- The Metro reports that the much talked about Radamel Falcao to Chelsea move will be completed this week. Having crashed out of the Copa América last weekend (more on which we have here), the striker is now free to complete the deal with the only stumbling block being his ‘astronomical wages’.
- Oscar may have played his last game at Stamford Bridge, according to The Telegraph, after Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri declared his admiration for him. ‘I would like a footballing inventor… I like Real Madrid’s Isco and Brazil’s Oscar’. However, with his agent categorically ruling out such a move, it may take more than a few kind words to make this deal a reality.
- The Mirror carries an article about youngster Andreas Christensen. The centre-back will be sent out on loan to Borussia Monchengladbach, but only once the club and him agree a contract extension. ‘Jose Mourinho is desperate to tie Christensen down long-term before allowing him leave.’ The 19 year old is said to have reservations over future opportunities in West London.
- Lastly, as is getting customary in these daily round-ups, Sky Sports and their ‘Sky sources’ make an appearance with the news that Chelsea are now clear front-runners for Asmir Begovic’s signature. With other ‘Sky sources’ stating that Petr Cech’s Arsenal deal will be officially closed today, the Blues are not far off replacing him. ‘Sky sources say that Chelsea now head the queue for the Bosnia-Herzegovina international’.

That’s the rumour round-up for the day. Bear in mind that these are indeed only rumours so take them with a pinch of salt. Furthermore, most of the sources are British tabloid papers which are notorious for making up random stories in order to give their journalists something to do.
Nevertheless in a period starved of any proper football action, what do fans have left to do but speculate? Which one of these rumours do you see as plausible? Which ones do you really want to come true? Get involved and sound off in the comments below!
