Chelsea FC: Fiorentina Make ‘Crazy’ Offer for Mohamed Salah
Chelsea FC loanee Mohamed Salah is at a turning point in his career after a brief successful loan spell at Italian side Fiorentina. It seems unlikely that his future lies at Stamford Bridge so the Egyptian should be looking to capitalise on his good performances and force a permanent move away.

Salah made a great impact on the Serie A for Fiorentina. With the consistently high level of play that he provided, you would think that they would be looking to keep such player who has already proven himself at the club. If they were to outright buy him it would cost them €18 million, otherwise they may be able to take the Egyptian on a temporary basis for one more season. Either way this seems the most obvious move for the winger.
Of course Salah has complete autonomy over the nature of how this will go down. He can veto the permanent deal should he desire to do so but it has been reported that he’ll make a decision sometime this week. The Italian side will certainly await the news with eagerness.
Should he say no, Fiorentina will have to move fast to fill his spot. Salah played a big part in helping the Viola fans getting over losing Juan Cuadrado to Chelsea in January. Furthermore, he certainly outperformed Cuadrado in the remainder of the season after both players switched squads. While the Italian league’s competition is not up to par with the Premier League, Salah still performed above expectations.
the choice is between playing most games in secondary leagues, or sitting and watching the best
Meanwhile, Fiorentina director Vincenzo Guerini is very keen on Salah and was quoted as saying: “He made a huge impact with us, so it’s normal that he should receive calls from elsewhere. He wants to earn more, but Fiorentina made a truly important proposal.”
He even went on to describe the club’s offer as “insane”.
After scoring six goals in sixteen appearances during his spell in Italy, the fans fell in love with him. Reportedly Fiorentina have offered the 23-year-old a €3 million per year deal. However, should Salah decline the offer, Inter Milan, Juventus, and Tottenham Hotspur are the teams who are waiting in the wings and will undoubtedly be out hunting in numbers.
If Fiorentina can secure his services, though, getting a 23 year-old player with such flexibility and scoring ability for €3 million per year is great business.

The decision will be a tough one for Salah to make. He gets the playing time he desires at Fiorentina, but he will be playing in a Italian league that has recently fallen below par in terms of quality. On an European front he will be stuck in the Europa League as well.
However, if he decides to either stay at Chelsea or move to Juventus he will most likely be a squad player. So the choice is between playing most games in secondary leagues and tournaments, or sitting and watching the best of the best play in the Champions League.
For a scrappy young Salah the decision seems to be leaning towards that playing time at Fiorentina, and so probably it should.
