Chelsea FC Interested In Antonio Rudiger, Claims Agent
The transfer season is in full flow (and it’s only just turned July) with Chelsea FC now linked with German defender Antonio Rudiger, according to the player’s agent. Rudiger currently plies his trade in the Bundesliga with Stuttgart.

Speaking to German sports magazine kicker (via Fox Sports), the centre-back’s agent claimed interest from both the Blues as well as league rivals Wolfsburg: “I know there’s interest from Chelsea and Wolfsburg,” said Sahr Senesie.
The 22-year-old made 35 appearances for Stuttgart in the 2013/14 season, establishing himself as a solid central defender and an exciting talent. This past season, however, he managed only 19 league appearances in a injury-plagued campaign. Surgery on his right knee after meniscus damage was the most severe of the lot and kept him out for over 3 months.
Nevertheless, it is thought that there has been no long-term impact on his footballing quality or potential and he should be reasonably hot property in this transfer window.
From Chelsea’s perspective, this could be quite a sound move. The player is only 22, and with John Terry inching closer to retirement, and Gary Cahill hitting his third decade, long-term replacements are needed in the centre of defence.
Furthermore, with the position that Stuttgart currently find themselves in (they finished 14th out of 18 teams last season), there is a chance that the youngster could be brought over relatively cheap.

Rudiger also appears to have the physique to fit the Premier League, standing at well over six feet and possessing impressive strength too.
His agent, though, did go on to say that the player would probably prefer not to move, at least for the time being.
“Antonio would love to stay in Germany.”
This is not the first time that the German international has been linked with a move to England. Last summer after his breakout season, the player himself fuelled the fire by commenting on a potential move to Manchester United.
“Of course I am aware of the interest from Manchester United. They are definitely one of the top clubs in Europe and they are in a league I have been dreaming of.”
However, there are other options available for Jose Mourinho. Everton defender John Stones has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, especially after Terry praised the English youngster in conversation with British radio station talkSPORT.
“I have seen a lot of games and I am a big fan of his. He pulls wide of the box and wants the ball and for a young defender to do that in the Premier League takes some guts.”
