Chelsea FC Transfer Rumour Round-Up, July 4th 2015
The football season may be over, but the transfer season is in full swing. It’s a monumental day for the Rumour Round-Up, as Chelsea FC have officially announced a Radamel Falcao move (check out our coverage here), meaning that he should never have to appear here again. It’s also the fourth of the month, so let’s take a look at what transfer rumours concerning Chelsea FC are flying around the press this morning.

- British radio station talkSPORT claim that Chelsea target Arda Turan has agreed a deal to stay in La Liga but move to Barcelona. Their Spanish football correspondent Begona Perez said, ‘There could be an announcement in the next couple of days but it is pretty much done. The fee is €35million.’
- Having said that, Spanish publication AS states that there has been ‘no offer from Barça’ and the Atlético Madrid winger is holding out for a Blues bid. ‘Arda is still waiting on something concrete from Chelsea, his preferred option.’
- Sticking with the Madrid club, the future of another one of their players, Toby Alderweireld, is set to be decided next week. The Express reports that the Blues target will likely be headed back to St Mary’s where he spent last season on loan. ‘Southampton are confident they will beat Chelsea and Tottenham to the 26-year-old’s signature.’
- The Daily Mail carries an article about Mohamed Salah’s future, with the player’s agent labelling Fiorentina ‘pathetic’. In what has become an increasingly complicated transfer saga, ‘the Italian club [are now] threatening legal action after he refused to sign with them for next season’. Bizarre.

- Lastly, in what appears to be a theme today, another Chelsea interest has supposedly signed a deal not with the London club. The Express claims that Paul Pogba is on the verge of signing for Barcelona, citing sources in Spain. If Joan Laporta is elected as Barça’s President, ‘Pogba will be on his way to Barcelona’. Sound reasoning.

That’s the rumour round-up for the day. Bear in mind that these are indeed only rumours so take them with a pinch of salt. Furthermore, most of the sources are British tabloid papers which are notorious for making up random stories in order to give their journalists something to do.
Nevertheless in a period starved of any proper football action, what do fans have left to do but speculate? Which one of these rumours do you see as plausible? Which ones do you really want to come true? Get involved and sound off in the comments below!
