Chelsea FC’s Loic Remy Is Turkish Delight
By Lee Fraser
The transfer market rumour mill is picking up pace as we enter the 2nd week of the transfer window and while Chelsea FC fans are still waiting for a marquee signing (not a loan signing), it seems as though Loic Remy is a step closer to leaving Stamford Bridge.

The latest development just currently breaking is that Turkish side Besiktas are stepping up their pursuit of the striker with the arrival in London of club president Fikret Orman. This is believed to be in order to start negotiations over a loan with an option to buy for the 28-year-old, instead of a holiday.
Despite Jose Mourinho’s insistence that Loic is going nowhere this summer, it appears that the rumour won’t go away. Perhaps this has been fuelled by the fact that Loic himself is aware that he needs regular game time to cement his place in the French side for next summer’s European Championship.
Last season Remy only made 8 starting appearances (29 total) for the Blues, scoring 7 goals in the Premier League, and would definitely need more minutes on the pitch this season to be considered for his national team.
One of the problems Loic faced last season was Diego Costa being the main man, and a successful one too. His own personal injuries didn’t help either, especially when they coincided with Diego’s absences.

Chelsea FC have already brought in Radamel Falcao as back up to Diego, so where does that leave Loic? The answer is probably 3rd choice, a terrible scenario for a decent player supposedly in the prime of his career.
On the other hand, if Loic Remy does decide that enough is enough then where does that leave Chelsea? Will they be able to recruit a good enough quality striker prepared to play 3rd fiddle?
A potentially better option would be to keep Patrick Bamford at Stamford Bridge with the instruction to learn from Diego and Falcao and keep his boots handy in case he is needed.
My preferred choice would be to keep Bamfordinho on side and in the 1st team squad and let’s see how the lad develops, but what would be your preferred option if Loic Remy decides that the delights of Turkey are too good to turn down?
