This will be only the second time that the Blues have faced the Gunners for the Shield, and on the back of a pretty shabby pre-season, there is no telling what sort of performance Jose Mourinho’s men will put in. The tour of the United States saw Chelsea take on the New York Red Bulls, PSG and Barcelona as part of the International Champions Cup. The what? Nah I don’t really know either.

Chelsea bagged two wins out of three, kind of, but were way off the pace that they will need come next weekend. The two victories were on penalties against the French and Spanish champions, while they lost 4-2 to the Red Bulls. The performances of John Obi Mikel and Juan Cuadrado were concerning to say the least, given that they are fighting for their futures at Stamford Bridge, but more worryingly both Gary Cahill and Diego Costa picked up injuries in the last game.

The boss will have some interesting selection choices to make for the meeting with Arsenal, so with that in mind, let’s try and predict how Mourinho will play his cards.
