Chelsea FC take on Swansea City in their first fixture of the 2015/16 Premier League season. In preparation, Jose Mourinho’s men have played five pre-season matches in a bid to get up to speed before the serious stuff starts. Unfortunately, it hasn’t exactly gone to plan.

The Blues started with a three-match tour of the United States, in which they were beaten by the New York Red Bulls, and picked up wins (on penalties) in meetings against PSG and Barcelona. Their performances didn’t exactly improve over the trip but the FA Community Shield provided an opportunity to really find some form in a semi-competitive environment.

That didn’t happen and Chelsea fell 1-0 to Arsenal. It was another sloppy performance with Willian and Oscar being the only two shining lights. They then took on Fiorentina in the last of their warmups on Wednesday evening, and lost again 1-0. Wednesday saw Mourinho start with a 2nd string team but then transition into a full-strength line-up as it became apparent that nothing was really happening for them.

Nevertheless, Jose Mourinho is the man in charge so it would be silly to be too worried about Saturday’s game. Having said that, Swansea will most likely have their sights set on the Europa League this season and thus will be eager to get off to a good start. With that in mind, let’s try and predict how the Blues will line-up at Stamford Bridge.
